OPD Nurse

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide the highest possible level of nursing care to all patients consistent with international standards.
• Carry out doctor’s order within hospital policy and legal limitations.
• Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs, collecting medical histories, and performing physical examinations.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records.
• Administer medications (oral, topical, injectable) and treatments as prescribed.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform basic laboratory procedure as needed.
• Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
• Maintain and process patients’ records and report patients’ conditions to doctors.
• Help patients to get ready for tests and other examinations.
• Plan and implement patient care program.
• Attend various meetings, workshops, and training as required to maintain updated on skills and knowledge of best nursing practices.
• Participate and contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures.
• Utilize and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
• Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, recognizing the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background, and preferred ways.
• Prepare and send daily OPD report.
• Maintain inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment and medication used.
• Monitor expiration dates and ensure timely replacement of outdated stock.
• Maintain accurate and complete inventory records.
• Maintain cleanliness of the working area.
• Monitor infection prevention.
• Other tasks assigned by manager.

Required Work Experience
• At least one year’s experience working as a nurse preferable in a high dependency or emergency area.

Required Qualifications (Brief description of the educational background needed to perform the job)
• Nursing Diploma or bachelor’s degree or country equivalent.

Required Languages
• Proficient in English
• Khmer

Travel / Rotation Requirements
• Covering 24-hour clinic hours on a Rota basis
