How are Gastroscopy & Colonoscopy Performed?
Both procedures involve using a thin, flexible tube with a camera (an endoscope for gastroscopy; a colonoscope for colonoscopy) to view the inside of your digestive tract. You will typically receive sedation to ensure your comfort.

Gastroscopy (Upper Endoscopy): The endoscope is gently guided through your mouth, down your esophagus, into your stomach, and the first part of your small intestine.
Colonoscopy: The colonoscope is gently guided through your rectum and into your entire large intestine (colon).

Importance Preparation Notes:

Dietary Restrictions: Refrain from eating vegetables, fruits, or other high-fiber foods for 1-2 days before your appointment.
Fasting: Do not consume any food after midnight the night before your screening (only plain water is permitted).
Medication: Refrain from taking antithrombotic medications (blood thinners) for 3-7 days prior to your screening. Please consult with your prescribing doctor regarding the specific dosage and type of medication.

Package Inclusions: This package specifically covers the doctor’s fee for the endoscopic screening, access to our OPD (Outpatient Department) Facility, and essential nursing services directly related to the procedure.
Package Exclusions: This package does NOT include costs for any additional tests, follow-up doctor’s consultations, subsequent treatments, or medications that may be recommended by your doctor based on your screening results. These services will be charged separately.

Refund Policy: Intercare Hospital will issue a full refund for this package if our doctor determines, based on your current medical condition or medical history, that the endoscopic procedure is unsuitable or unsafe for you.
